For those of you who HAVE received a “call” lately, thinking of you and sending comforting thoughts your way….

To our friends and family,

Attached is the link for the Spoonful on the Today show. It was a product review segment so nothing was said about the story behind it. The Food guru calls it “the ultimate of Chicken soup” while a host says “you have been talking about this all morning” referring to Spoonful of Comfort.

Spoonful will be featured or in the January issues which come out in a few weeks of:

Real Simple

Self

Womans World – comes out Dec 28th

Lots more to come after January. Thanks to everyone for their kindness and support. Marti is crazy busy and this is the best medicine for herself. It is really neat to see her idea come to fruition and it continues to grow.

Very best to all and have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

I have seen a definite increase in orders going to people with H1N1 virus over the last month I have done tons of research on the benefits of Chicken Soup for the “common cold” but wanted to know if it helps as much with the flu!!! And grandma’s were right…it’s good for what ails ya! No matter what that is – rough day, cold or even flu!!! Below is information from an article by PreventDisease.com

Chicken Soup Does Soothe a Cold

They think it may help flu sufferers, too.

“Does it cure you? No. But it makes you feel a lot better, and that’s
the bottom line,” says Dr. Jordan S. Josephson, an otolaryngologist
and sinus specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. “As
anyone who’s ever had the flu will tell you, you sit there praying to
God [for] anything that will make you feel a little bit better.”

“The flu — which actually is a contagious, respiratory illness caused
by influenza viruses — strikes the nose, throat and lungs just like
the common cold. However, medical experts say it comes on more quickly
and severely, usually accompanied by more intense aches, fever and
tiredness. Both ailments feature coughing, nasal congestion and sore
throat.

And that’s where chicken soup can help, Josephson says.

“Colds and the flu naturally make you produce mucus,” he says, “but
research showed that chicken soup inhibits the mucus production.”

“That means my nose will be less stuffy, my throat won’t be as sore, I
won’t be coughing as much, I won’t be as congested and I will feel
better,” Josephson says.

“The take-home message when you have a cold or the flu is to bundle
up, stay warm and drink plenty of fluids, and chicken soup is a real
good one,” Josephson says. “It tastes good and it hydrates you.”

Take Care!
