Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Bar

Let’s talk about comfort food.  Over on A Table Top Affair – it is one of my favorite topics especially when it involves a gourmet grilled cheese.  I am also very passionate about spending time with friends and most of the time, let’s be honest, that involves food.  When you have friends over, cooking food can be stressful which is why I LOVE Spoonful of Comfort’s Soup boxes.
Spoonful of Comfort provides everything you need for a party (even the dessert!) which I love.  Makes everything super easy and you know they are using the freshest ingredients so it will be even tastier!

Let’s get started… here are my 3 easy steps to throwing a Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Party with the Spoonful of Comfort Box!

1. Grilled Cheese Rolls

With a boxed kit that includes soup and rolls… you might wonder how to make grilled cheeses.  I sliced the rolls in half - buttered them, stuck cheese and herbs in them and then put them on 350 for about 5 minutes. The cheese melted and was a PERFECT little sandwich go accompany the richness of the soup. The box comes with 6 rolls and are the perfect size!

I melted Havarti, Swiss, and Monterey Jack in my sandwiches - but you could do any soft cheese! Those just happen to be on hand and my favorite!

2. Spice Up Your Soups

Everyone knows tomato soup is the perfect companion to grilled cheese. However, one thing we love over at A Table Top Affair is to spice things up - I can’t let anything just go by itself. For this soup, I added Parsley, chopped jalapeños, a little bit of cream and salt and pepper flakes.

Since everyone has different preferences, set out a few topping favorites like fresh herbs, peppers, cheese, bacon, croutons, grilled chickpeas..and let everyone customize to their liking.

3. Finish it off with Chocolate Chip Cookies

A classic dinner deserves a classic dessert and these Chocolate Chip Cookies are amazing.  I served them with milk and added a dash of cinnamon to it. Just like spicing up your soups; I love adding a pinch of coarse sea salt to cookies because it really brings out the chocolate.

I love parties. I love entertaining. And especially around this time of year with all of the get-togethers with friends while watching the big games, cold Saturdays watching baseball, or just a weeknight get together – you can’t go wrong with a grilled cheese bar and tomato soup.  Go over and follow along with other fun ideas and recipes at ATableTopAffair.com because at the end of the day, I hope you are pulling up a chair to my table and eating dinner with me, especially if it is an easy Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Bar from Spoonful of Comfort.
